"We truly couldn’t have imagined anyone else to photograph our engagement and wedding day. I was extremely nervous

that we wouldn't find a photographer that I wouldn’t feel awkward or uncomfortable around until we met Maiya. Not only is she an amazing photographer, she is an amazing human. I’ve never met anyone so genuinely happy, humble, and down to earth and I think that is why she makes you feel automatically comfortable around her. We saw her recently and I wasn’t expecting Maiya to remember all of our wedding details but she remembered everything. She made us feel so important. My husband and I interviewed a few different photographers and we honestly didn’t know what we were necessarily looking for. We didn’t seem to click with any of the other photographers except for Maiya. She was calm, listened to us and our vision, didn't try to upsell us, and gave us really good recommendations. We knew right after our initial meeting that we had found our photographer.

In a good way, there were no boundaries. She held my hand while I climbed through bushes to access an amazing photo spot, she checked my armpits for deodorant clumps throughout the day, laughed with us, and helped us get through awkward family encounters. She was basically my built-in best friend for the day.

When we got our wedding day album back, I literally couldn’t believe it was us and our friends/family in those photos. She captured all of us in a way that reflected our happiness, quirkiness, and love for each other. She truly knows how to make your personality shine in photos."

"I cannot recommend Maiya enough!! She was our photographer for our wedding in September 2021, and I knew as soon as we met her that she was exactly what we were looking for. Her communication and flexibility were what we needed in a very stressful and unknown time, and her style of photography and editing is flawless. We had a sunset engagement shoot several months before the wedding and it was so fun and easy to be shot by Maiya. She had her own creative & experienced ideas but also let us do our thing and have our input.

Let me tell you, the photos from the engagement shoot and the wedding could not have been more perfect. They were romantic, candid, fun, and TONS of them! She and her second shooter at the wedding did an incredible job of getting photos of literally everyone. We still to this day get compliments from our guests. "I was looking for a photographer who would capture candid, natural photos for our outdoor elopement in Vancouver. My friend had worked with Maiya for her wedding/engagement photos and she highly recommended her. She said that Maiya is very personable and that she will work with me to make something work for me. I browsed her photos on her Instagram and her website, and the warmth and the natural tone of her photos stood out to me. Her sunset photos were breathtakingly beautiful. 

Correspondence with Maiya was super easy, we instantly felt at ease with her. I had told Maiya that I wanted a combination of some beach shots and forest shots, and Maiya scouted out the perfect trail for us. It encompassed so many different scenarios within a short walk, we could make the most out of our photo session! My husband and I are not the most camera-ready people, but we felt so comfortable around Maiya. She gave us lots of suggestions on poses while trying to make sure that it captures the essence of who we are as people and as a couple. We had a lot of fun during the photoshoot. 

Maiya sent us our sneak peek within 24 hours of the photoshoot. I really appreciated this as all of us were curious how the photos turned out, still high from the day of the ceremony. It was also nice to be able to share these photos from the sneak peek with friends and families who were waiting for the update after the ceremony. 

We loved our final gallery. As expected, the colors and the tones of the photos are so beautiful. Also, they make us look so good yet they still look natural and candid."
